Donate to Arrowhead

Hello! Foye Hatton here. One of the perks of my position as Project Lead at Arrowhead Clubhouse is that I get to meet and exchange information about mental health with amazing people from other communities across British Columbia. It comes as no surprise that many of them wish they had a resource like Arrowhead Clubhouse in their area.

“I wish our community had a resource like Arrowhead Clubhouse.”

Arrowhead is an inclusive community of hope where 268 members living with mental illness on the Sunshine Coast can learn skills, get support and build relationships in a safe, stigma-free environment. Daily we offer encouragement, opportunities, advocacy and a sense of ownership and belonging.

As we all learn to live with COVID, members are still facing crisis on two fronts:

1) Housing - many of our members are living out of their cars, in tents or in other unsafe and extreme weather conditions;

2) the Fentanyl Crisis - the impact of a fentanyl-contaminated drug supply has pushed overdose deaths to levels never seen before, affecting people in urban, suburban and rural areas across the province.

While the stigma of mental illness and drug use can lead to isolation, we are lucky to have Arrowhead Clubhouse, a safety net for the most vulnerable and disenfranchised, within our community. It is a unique resource and more relevant than ever before.

Despite the hardships of life, our clubhouse is a space filled with love. And, we want to say thank you. In the past year, over 700 donations from the community (including YOU!) helped us to:

·        Serve over 7,100 hot nutritious meals

·        Support members to secure 48 employment positions

·        Assist 24 members to move into stable housing

·        Help 9 members to enter addiction rehabilitation facilities

It is rare for such a space to be filled with so much joy but not a day goes by that laughter does not ring through our narrow halls at Arrowhead. It’s only possible because of your generous support (and the amazing staff team, who give everything they have, from energy to heart, every day).

We ask you, if you can, to please make a donation to Arrowhead Clubhouse and an investment in our members. By doing so, you can make a difference. There are two ways in which you can donate:

By Credit Card/Online
You can donate online on our website at arrowclub.org/take-action

By Cheque
Please make the cheque payable to SCCSS and make sure to put “Arrowhead Clubhouse” in the memo section. Mail your donation to Arrowhead Clubhouse, PO Box 676, Sechelt, BC V0N3A0.

Thank you for your time and consideration. Happy Holidays!

ARROWHEAD CLUBHOUSE OPEN FRIDAYS - STARTING SEPT. 23

After years of pandemic and funding restrictions, Arrowhead Clubhouse is delighted to announce that we will be opening our doors again on Fridays! We will once again be opening up our safe space (offering nutritious lunches, coffee, advocacy, internet, laundry, employment supports and workshops, and hot showers among many other services) five days a week.

The staff and members of Arrowhead are eternally grateful for the funding (provided by the Union for BC Municipalities Strengthening Communities’ Services Program) that will allow us to once again provide essential services to our vulnerable community members.

Please be aware that the first Friday open will be September 23rd . The Clubhouse will be closed the following Friday, September 30th to honour and recognise The National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.

The Clubhouse will then be open Friday October 7 th for the year, between the hours of 9am and 3:30pm.

If you wish to donate or volunteer your services (we are always looking for those amazing people who would like to lend a helping hand) please contact Foye Hatton, Program Lead at 604 865 0471.
