NEW Opening Hours!
Arrowhead Clubhouse is evolving to “future-proof” this essential frontline service. A special joint announcement from Arrowhead Clubhouse and SCCSS.
Last night at an Extraordinary General Meeting, after careful consideration and discussion, a resolution was passed to “Apply on April 1, 2021, to the BC Registrar of Companies for dissolution of the Arrowhead Clubhouse Society, BC Certificate of Incorporation: S0044717”. The resolution passed with twenty people in favour and two opposed.
The decision by the Arrowhead Clubhouse Society Board to propose this resolution was made after a 6-month comprehensive review of how best to sustain the Clubhouse for the long term, both financially and operationally. The Board also carefully considered the need to retain the participant-led approach that is a hallmark of the International Clubhouse model. Details of the new structures that will be put in place over the coming months are documented in the joint statement below (see Link), written by the chairs of both the Arrowhead Clubhouse Society and the Sunshine Coast Community Services Society.
Change is always a little scary but the ACS Board is very confident that SCCSS will continue to expertly administer the financial and operational logistics of the clubhouse and ensure members have a voice in the direction the clubhouse takes over the coming years.
If you have any questions about this process and decision please do not hesitate to contact Project Lead, Foye Hatton. Email fhatton@sccss.ca or call 604-865-0471.

March 03, 2021
Dear Arrowhead Clubhouse Members:
For the past year the Board of the Arrowhead Clubhouse Society has met and discussed what form and structure would best serve the continuation of the needs of the Clubhouse and its members. As discussed at the AGM last September 29 2020, the Board is now ready to make the following recommendation:
The Society will devolve and in its place active volunteers will remain as “THE FRIENDS OF ARROWHEAD’ helping support with parties, garage sales, raffle sale, public awareness, public speaking, annual appeal etc.
The Members of the Clubhouse will form an ARROWHEAD WORK PLAN COMMITTEE, made up of members and staff, setting goals and priorities for the Clubhouse, giving members a greater say in the operation.
Sunshine Coast Community Services Society, who have already been overseeing the staffing and daily operation of Arrowhead Clubhouse for over 10 years, have agreed to take full responsibility for fundraising and operation going forward.
You are all invited to a Zoom meeting called for March 23, 2021, at 5pm. If you wish to take part in the virtual meeting please register by 5pm on Friday 19th March 2021, by emailing; arrowheadclubhousesociety@gmail.com.

2020 Christmas Appeal
Dear Sunshine Coast Community,
One of the most important events on the Arrowhead calendar is Christmas Day. This year would have been our 4th year in a row that we would have opened and held a dinner and gift giving celebration for our members. Last year over 40 people came in on Christmas Day. Traditionally we have been overwhelmed with presents from the community. We have always been given so much from everyone on the coast that we have been able to give gifts to all of our 100 regular members.
Arrowhead Clubhouse has gone through so much change this year and it may be a long time till we are back to normal. This has been very hard. We have not been able to meet with our friends and family in the same ways that we are used to. We are now operating only 3 days a week instead of 5, and we can only have 10 members in the building at a time. Events we had planned for the community were cancelled and our art lessons from the Sechelt Art’s Council had to stop. We all hope to get back in the community doing things we love with each other soon.
Unfortunately, this year we are asking for donations of gift cards rather than actual presents. This is because we cannot take items into the clubhouse right now. Although this is not as personal for our members, we hope you will still think of us and donate.
We are all looking forward to a vaccine and a return to normal. This year most people will be choosing to have a lonely Christmas. Mental health is a very pertinent issue for us all during the pandemic, we have seen levels of depression and anxiety skyrocket these past months, and we hope everyone is taking care of themselves this Christmas.
Thank you for thinking of us during the holiday season,
Love from all the Members of Arrowhead Clubhouse.

Christmas Opening Hours
This Christmas we will be open Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays (10am to 12noon and 1pm to 3pm). We will be open on these days all through the Christmas Season and beyond. On Christmas Day we will be holding an online ZOOM celebration (time to be decided) as we can not open the Clubhouse on Christmas Day this year. Moving forward we hope to open for a fourth day each week in the spring.
